Allow Tearing on the Steam Deck refers to a setting that lets your games run faster by not syncing the screen's refresh rate with the game's frame rate. This can result in screen tearing, where you might see parts of multiple frames at once, but it can also boost performance!

It's a setting that, when enabled, can improve game performance by allowing frames to be displayed without waiting for the screen to finish each refresh cycle. You'll get faster frame rates but might notice screen tearing.

You want maximum performance and don't mind a bit of visual tearing? Turn this on!

I tried 'Allow Tearing' and it made my games smoother but with some noticeable screen tearing during fast movements. Worth it if you need the extra FPS.

Screen tearing for more FPS? Yup, that's what Allow Tearing does on your Steam Deck.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
