Mitosis makes two identical cells for growth and repair. Meiosis makes four unique cells for reproduction. It's like mitosis is a photocopy, while meiosis is a remix!

Mitosis creates two identical daughter cells; meiosis creates four genetically varied cells. One is a Xerox machine, the other is an artist!

Mitosis = body cells and repair. Meiosis = sex cells and genetic diversity. That's the gist.

In mitosis, you get two identical daughter cells. In meiosis, you get four non-identical cells with half the chromosomes. Simple as that!

Think of mitosis as making clones and meiosis as making unique individuals.
