What is Overload in MTG?
DislikingTramp·7 months agoSimply, Overload in MTG means you pay more to hit everything instead of one thing. Bigger cost, bigger boom!

Overload is a keyword ability in Magic The Gathering that allows you to pay an alternate cost to have the spell affect each targetable instance instead of just one. For example, if a spell with Overload normally targets one creature, paying the Overload cost means it'll target all creatures that fit the spell's criteria. It's like turning a precision laser into a wide-beam flashlight – everything in its path gets hit!
Overload’s just a way to go from single target to EVERYTHING. Played right, it turns the game on its head. I've wiped entire boards clean with a well-timed Overload spell. It's as satisfying as it sounds.
