Reballing a PS3 involves removing the GPU (or CPU), cleaning it, and then soldering it back onto the motherboard with new solder balls. It's done to fix overheating issues or the infamous Yellow Light of Death (YLOD).
In my experience, the PS3 can last much longer after a successful reballing. It’s like a console resurrection!
Basically, reballing is a fancy way of saying you're giving your PS3 a new lease on life by reattaching its components with fresh solder.
