Salt, or sodium chloride, doesn't appear as a single element on the periodic table. Instead, it's a compound of sodium (Na) and chlorine (Cl)!

As a chemistry teacher, I assure you that salt is made from sodium and chlorine. Check groups 1 and 17 for these elements!
