What is the best armor in Terraria?
The best armor in Terraria really depends on your playstyle, but generally, for sheer defense, the Solar Flare Armor is top-notch for melee users. It not only gives you the highest defense but also lets you dash into enemies, dealing damage. For mages, I'd say Nebula Armor is the way to go, as it boosts magic power significantly and has awesome set bonuses that help with mana regeneration. Lastly, for rangers, Vortex Armor is amazing, especially with its stealth mode that increases ranged damage and critical strike chance.

Honestly, it's all about how you like to play. I main a summoner, so for me, it's Stardust Armor all the way. Sure, other armors have their perks, but being able to summon a small army is unbeatable in my book.
Nebula armor is overrated. Sure, the mana bonuses are nice, but you're better off focusing on dodging and using weapons with lower mana costs. Just my two cents.
Solar Flare Armor, hands down for melee. It makes you feel like a tank that can also dash!
