Kinetic energy is like that caffeine-fueled sprint to the coffee machine—energy of motion. Potential energy is the cozy slumber in your bed—energy stored and waiting to be used!

Kinetic energy = motion! Potential energy = stored energy! Simple as that.

Kinetic energy is the energy an object has because it's moving. Potential energy is the energy stored in an object due to its position or state. Think of PE as the energy a rock has sitting at the top of a hill, and KE as the energy it has when it starts rolling down!

Kinetic energy is all about movement, while potential energy is about position. Think rolling a ball down a hill vs. holding it at the top!
