Mitosis is the process where a single cell divides its chromosomes into two identical sets, while cytokinesis is when the cell actually splits into two separate cells. Think of mitosis as copying the files and cytokinesis as hitting 'print' twice!

Mitosis divides the nucleus, and cytokinesis divides the cytoplasm. Basically, mitosis handles the DNA part, and cytokinesis takes care of the rest.

Mitosis separates the chromosomes; cytokinesis splits the cell. Easy peasy!
