From personal experience, I always go with a 3.5" x 5" bubble mailer for single cards. Adds a bit of protection and ensures the card arrives in mint condition. For multiple cards or something more valuable, bump it up to a 6" x 9" to fit everything comfortably without forcing cards into too tight a space.
Honestly, just use a regular envelope and throw the card in there. It's just a piece of paper, right?
