In the finale of Sword Art Online 2, Kirito and Sinon defeat Death Gun, resolving the mystery behind his killings. Later, they return to ALO for a quest to revive Yui's heart, and the story shifts back to Aincrad where Kirito tells Asuna about Yuuki and her tragic past. The season beautifully ends with Asuna holding Yuuki's hand as she peacefully passes away.

Kirito takes down Death Gun, saves the day (as usual), and then we get some tear-jerking moments with Asuna and Yuuki. You might need tissues!

Kirito wins, Death Gun loses. Asuna's storyline with Yuuki is the emotional highlight. TL;DR - Action-packed climax followed by a heartfelt ending.

Kirito defeating Death Gun seems cool but dragging on with Yuuki felt meh to me.
