In MTG, the Monarch is a special status a player can obtain during a game that grants them extra drawing power. Essentially, if you become the Monarch, you get to draw an additional card at the end of your turn. The crown can be passed around though; if another player deals combat damage to you, they snatch the title and become the new Monarch. It adds a fun, regal layer of strategy to the game!

Just a quick hot take: Being the Monarch is like being the king of the hill. Super fun, but watch your back!

Got the Monarch status once during a Commander game, and let me tell you, it felt like holding a golden ticket. Extra card every turn? Yes, please! But also, it painted a huge target on my back. Everyone suddenly wanted a piece of me. 10/10 would recommend, but it's not just about the extra draw, it's about surviving the throne.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
