Brace yourselves, collectors! The most expensive energy Pokémon card out there is the Pikachu Illustrator card. Granted, it's not your typical 'energy' card in gameplay terms, but when it comes to value, nothing beats this rare gem. Why? It was a prize for a contest in Japan back in 1998, and only a handful exist.

Most expensive energy card? If we're sticking strictly to cards used for energy in the game, then you're looking at miscuts, errors, or highly limited edition prints. But none really hit the astronomical figures of promo cards like Pikachu Illustrator.

The Pikachu Illustrator card, hands down. It's not technically an 'energy' card by the TCG's standard definitions, but if we're talking price tags, this is the king. Rarity and history blast its value through the roof.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
