The oldest Pokemon card is the Pikachu Illustrator card, a super rare promo given out to winners of a drawing contest in Japan back in 1998. So rare, in fact, that it's considered the holy grail of Pokemon collecting!

The Pikachu Illustrator card, hands down. Only a handful exist, making it not just the oldest but also one of the rarest and most sought-after cards out there.

Gotta disagree with the focus on Pikachu Illustrator. Yes, it's rare, but the Base Set cards from '96 really kickstarted the whole craze. Those are the true oldies and goodies in the Pokemon card world.

Actually, it's not just about the Pikachu Illustrator. The first ever Pokemon cards were part of the Pokemon TCG Base Set released in Japan in 1996. This set included classics like Charizard, Blastoise, and Venusaur. So technically, any card from this set could be considered one of the oldest.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
