Fake Pokemon cards often have a few tell-tale signs: the colors might be off, the card might feel too thin or too thick compared to real ones, and sometimes the text has typos or the font just looks weird. Also, genuine cards have a distinct layer of black within the card material if you look at the edges, something fakes often miss.

Check the back of the card! Real Pokemon cards have a consistent blue pattern, and fakes usually can't get it quite right. It's all in the details!

Honestly, most fake cards just feel wrong. If it feels like playing with a piece of printer paper, it's probably fake.

Real simple, the holographic layer on fake cards usually looks pretty bad or just 'off' compared to real ones. If it's too shiny or not shiny enough, be suspicious.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
