For league play, you can use cards from the current Standard or Expanded format, which usually includes the most recent sets. The Standard format is updated annually, so it's a good idea to check the official Pokemon website for the exact sets that are in rotation. Cards like Basic Pokemon, Stage 1 and 2 Evolutions, Trainer Cards, and Energy Cards are all game! Just remember, no fakes or card alterations allowed!

Short answer: Stick to the latest sets and check the ban list! Anything not on there and from the current Standard or Expanded rotation is fair game. Stay updated!

Gotta say, as someone who frequents leagues, they're pretty strict on using only the cards in the official Standard or Expanded format rotations. Had a buddy learn that the hard way when his favorite card got rotated out. Always check the latest allowed sets!

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
