In Pokemon TCG tournaments, you can only use cards that are legal in the current format. The formats mainly include Standard and Expanded. Standard allows cards from the most recent sets, typically the last couple of years of releases, while Expanded includes a wider range of cards. Make sure to check the latest rules and banned card list on the official Pokemon website before you assemble your deck!

Rip those proxies and homemade cards; they鈥檙e a no-go at official events. Stick to the real deal and you鈥檙e golden.

Just remember, no fake cards allowed! Only official Pokemon TCG cards can enter the fray in tournaments. And keep an eye on those banned lists; they're updated regularly.

Honestly, it all boils down to the tournament's format. I played in a Standard format tourney last month and had to ditch some of my favorites because they were from older sets. Always double-check your deck with the latest format rules.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
