Basically, all Pokémon cards are playable if you’re talking about the game itself. Every card, from Basic Pokémon to Stage 1 and 2 Evolutions, Trainer Cards, and Energy Cards, can be used to battle. Some might be more powerful or valuable in the gameplay than others, but yeah, they're all playable. Just make sure they’re from a current set if you're playing in official tournaments!

Only the latest sets are 'playable' in official competitions, but for casual play with friends? Anything goes. Build a deck with your favorites, no matter how old they are.

Depends on what you mean by 'playable.' If you're looking to win, focus on building a deck with a good mix of Pokémon, Trainer, and Energy cards that work well together. Some cards are definitely stronger than others, but creativity in your deck can surprise your opponents.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
