The 80GB PS3 model released in 2007 is partially compatible with PS2 games, using software emulation rather than hardware support. Still, it can run quite a few PS2 titles!

I've got a 60GB PS3 and can confirm it plays most PS2 games like a charm. Nothing beats the original hardware though for that nostalgia kick!

Only the original 20GB and 60GB models of the PS3 released in North America and Japan are fully backwards compatible with PS2 games. They have the extra hardware inside to run them!

Hot take: Get a PS2 for PS2 games. PS3 backwards compatibility is kinda overrated.

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
