Technically, the PS4 controller isn't fully compatible with the PS3 system. But if you use a USB cable, you can get it to work with most games. Bluetooth support is hit or miss.

Most PS3 games don't officially support the PS4 controller, but you can use it wired. Just plug it in via USB and you're good to go!
