GTA 5 is based on California, complete with its own version of LA known as Los Santos. They really nailed the vibes with the beaches, traffic jams, and those overly fit folks jogging by the beach.

Actually, it's a mini version of the entire USA crammed into one state. But yeah, mainly California.

It's based on California, dude! Los Santos is basically virtual Los Angeles. You got Vinewood (Hollywood), Vespucci Beach (Venice Beach), and even the crazy countryside that feels just like you're out in the middle of nowhere in SoCal.
