The symbols on Pokémon cards are super important for telling you all sorts of things about the card! The little symbol in the bottom right corner? That's the set symbol, telling you which set the card belongs to. Then there's the rarity symbol - like a circle for common, a diamond for uncommon, and a star for rare. You'll also see symbols that indicate the card's type (like fire, water, etc.), and for energy requirements needed to use the card's moves. Don't forget, the Pokémon's stage of evolution is shown right above the picture too!

Simple version: Circle = common. Diamond = uncommon. Star = rare. The set symbol shows what set it's from, and there are symbols for the Pokémon's type and energy requirements.

Honestly, the symbols aren't that big of a deal. Just enjoy the game and the artwork. You'll get the hang of it as you go.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
