Don't waste your Platinum on resources or mods commonly available in the game. Save it for exclusive or hard-to-get items.
Save some Platinum for quality-of-life items like Orokin Reactors and Catalysts. They double the mod capacity of your Warframes and weapons.
IMO, buying Platinum is for those who can't grind. Just play the game and enjoy the grind. Trust, it's more rewarding.
