What to Do Before Entering Hardmode in Terraria?
Before you jump into Hardmode in Terraria, make sure you've got the best gear you can get your hands on. Smash those Shadow Orbs or Crimson Hearts to grab some decent loot. Definitely build a Hellevator, so you have easy access to The Underworld. Oh, and gather as many resources as you can, especially ores and potions, 'cause things get real tough in Hardmode. Also, don't forget to secure your base against the spreading Corruption or Crimson by creating a buffer zone around it.

Just fish. Seriously, get a bunch of crates from fishing and don't open them till you hit Hardmode. The loot upgrades to Hardmode items when you open them after the switch. Easy gear upgrade!
IMO, don't stress too much. Part of Terraria's fun is getting smacked down and figuring things out. So if you've got decent armor and weapons, just go for it!
Protect your Jungle! Hardmode Corruption/Crimson & Hallow can destroy it. Make a barrier around it at least three tiles wide out of a non-corruptible block. Save that green!
Spell out 'SEND HELP' in torches. Just kidding, sort of. Actually, stockpile on healing potions and make sure you have an arena for bosses. You鈥檒l thank me later.
