Honestly, just watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. The original's deviations from the manga are not worth it IMO.

I'd go with Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) first. It has a unique storyline after the first few episodes that many fans appreciate. Then, watch Brotherhood.
