The censored scenes in Tokyo Ghoul S1 E2 are mostly the brutal and gory moments. They dimmed some of the more graphic violence to make it less intense for viewers.

My hot take: The censorship didn't matter. The story and characters still shine brightly, even with a little less blood.

Several bloody and violent scenes were toned down in Episode 2 of Tokyo Ghoul's first season. They darkened the screen at crucial points to mask the gore.

As someone who watched both the censored and uncensored versions, I can tell you the differences are mainly in the visibility of blood and intense violence. The darkened scenes do make it less gruesome.
