The very first Pokemon card ever made was the Pikachu Illustrator. This card was given as a prize in a drawing contest by the Japanese magazine CoroCoro Comic back in 1997, and it's super rare. Only a handful of them exist in the world, making it a treasure for hardcore collectors!

Nope, y'all got it wrong. The first Pokemon card isn't something fancy like the Pikachu Illustrator. It was just a simple Machop card from the base set. Everyone knows that.

Actually, it's a myth that the Pikachu Illustrator card was the first. The true first cards were part of the Pokemon Demo Game Pack released in Japan in 1996, before the official TCG launch. These packs are incredibly rare!

Pikachu Illustrator for sure. It's not just the first; it's the Holy Grail of Pokemon cards. Ultimate bragging rights if you have it, but good luck finding one that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
