The first ever expansion in the Pokemon TCG world was the 'Base Set.' It basically laid the groundwork for what the game has become today. Released way back in 1996 in Japan and in 1999 in the US, it's like the OG of Pokemon cards. Featuring the iconic Charizard card everyone wanted, it's what started the craze.
