When it comes to the crème de la crème of valuable Pokémon cards, you're mostly looking at those first editions from 1999. That's the golden year when Pokémon TCG hit the scene, and those original cards can fetch a pretty penny. Keep an eye out for first edition holographic cards - they're like the rare jewels of the Pokémon TCG world.

1999, no contest. Those first edition shiny Charizards? Literal gold.

Actually, I'd argue that while 1999 has some of the highest-valued cards, don't sleep on some cards from the early 2000s. There are a few limited edition promos and tournament prizes from those years that can rival the originals in rarity and value.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
