You can dive into co-op play right from the start! Just team up with friends or matchmake with other players as soon as you begin the campaign.
You can start co-op immediately after the tutorial! Just link up with your buddies or use the matchmaking system to find teammates.
Basically, once you finish the tutorial section, you're good to go for co-op. Hit up your friends or use the matchmaking feature!
