Usually, you don't need to hold priority unless you're doing something sneaky or complex. Like, casting a spell and then immediately countering it yourself for some reason. Most times, just play your spells and let the process roll.

As a rule, I only hold priority when I want to flex on my opponent. Like, 'Look, I can do two things at once!' It's all about that psychological warfare, baby.

Honestly, holding priority is mostly a niche tactic. Most players might never need to use it in casual play. It's more of a competitive scene thing.

Holding priority in MTG means you're keeping the right to act first after adding something to the stack, before your opponents can react. You can do this anytime you have priority and want to make multiple plays in a row. For instance, if you want to cast a spell and then immediately respond to your own spell with another, you鈥檇 hold priority after casting the first spell to do so. It鈥檚 a pro move for setting up combos or ensuring your strategies don鈥檛 get interrupted!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
