Dual Type Pokémon cards first made their appearance in the Pokémon TCG with the Neo Genesis set back in 2000. However, they became more prominent with the Steam Siege expansion in 2016, where we saw a bunch of Pokémon sporting two types at once, making for some cool deck strategies!

Actually, dual types were a thing way back but hit the big stage in 2016 with Steam Siege. Before that, it was more like a rare gem hidden in the earlier sets!

2016, Steam Siege. That's when dual types really took the stage. Anything before that is just a pre-show.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
