Lockpicking in Hogwarts Legacy is unlocked fairly early in the game. You'll get it as part of the main storyline after you complete the quest 'The Caretaker's Lunar Lament.' This happens around when you're a few hours into the game, so you don't have to wait too long to start unlocking all those pesky locked doors and chests.

You get the lockpicking spell Alohomora after finishing 'The Caretaker's Lunar Lament' quest. It's pretty straightforward, and it'll totally change how you explore Hogwarts. Also, remember to upgrade it to open higher level locks!

Just keep playing the story, and you'll unlock it. Not too hard, really. Waiting is the hardest part.
