You unlock the lockpicking skill in Hogwarts Legacy after completing the 'The Caretaker's Lunar Lament' quest. This quest usually pops up after a few hours of gameplay, once you're past the initial introduction and into exploring the castle. So keep pushing through the story, and soon you'll be snagging all those locked treasures!

Got the lockpicking skill as soon as I finished 'The Caretaker's Lunar Lament'. It鈥檚 not right at the start, but not too far in. Definitely worth the wait 'cause lockpicking opens up so many cool areas and loot opportunities!
