Gintama really kicks into high gear around episode 50! The humor gets sharper, and the story arcs become more intense. Stick with it!

Hot take: It was good from episode 1! But if you're waiting for the serious arcs, episode 58 (Benizakura Arc) is where things heat up.

Honestly, I found Gintama gets good right from episode 1. The comedy and unique characters had me hooked immediately!

By episode 20 you should be hooked! Characters and storylines become more fleshed out, making the earlier randomness worth it.

It gets amazing around the Shinsengumi Crisis arc, which starts at episode 101. The blend of comedy and drama is just perfect!
