Things start getting really good around episode 58 with the Benizakura Arc. That’s when the series starts mixing in more serious elements with its comedy.

Hot take: it's awesome from episode 1. If you didn’t laugh at the beginning, maybe Gintama isn’t your thing.

Honestly, Gintama gets good right from the start if you appreciate its quirky humor! But if you’re looking for when the plot thickens, around episode 50 is when things start to get seriously epic.

I’d say Gintama really starts hitting its stride around episode 25. The humor sharpens, and the characters get more fleshed out.

As a longtime fan, I can safely say stick with it until at least episode 50. By then, you're probably hooked!
