When does the training arc happen in One Piece?

The training? Honestly, if you blink, you might miss it. One Piece doesn't spend ages on training montages like some other shows. The crew splits for training at the end of the Marineford Arc and before they reunite 2 years later, but the bulk of it is off-screen. We get snapshots in flashbacks. So, episode 516 marks the start of their hiatus, but don’t expect a dedicated 'training arc'.

Oh, you're talking about that major level-up phase, right? The training arc in One Piece actually isn't a single, continuous chunk of episodes. The Straw Hats decide to take a 2-year training period after the events at Sabaody Archipelago which gets really intense post the Marineford Arc. This happens around episode 516, where each member goes their separate ways to power up. The real juicy training details are scattered throughout the series as flashbacks, so keep your eyes peeled!

Yeah, so, One Piece kinda flips the script on the whole training arc cliché. They do split up and power-up, but it's mostly off-screen magic. Episode 516 is your landmark for when they decide it's grind time. But don't get too hyped for a traditional training montage.
