So, here's the tea: One Piece was initially supposed to wrap up in about 5 years. But guess what? Eiichiro Oda, our beloved creator, got so invested in the world and the characters (and we can't blame him) that the series just kept growing. Now, we're over two decades in, and it's still sailing strong!

5 years, folks! That's how long Oda thought it'd take. But here we are, living our best pirate life with the Straw Hats, with no end in sight!

Actually, Oda never really had a solid endgame in mind. It kind of evolved over time. Initially, he thought One Piece might conclude after 5 years, but as the story expanded, so did the timeline. Now, we're looking at a few more years to go, and honestly, I'm not complaining.

Nah, it should've ended at 5 years. We didn't sign up for a lifetime series.
