Hot Wheels officially hit the market in 1968. They were like a fresh coat of paint in the diecast car scene, offering those sweet, sweet fantasy designs and performance features unlike anything else on the shelves.
'68, the year of revolutions and, apparently, the birth of Hot Wheels. Could argue it was the most important event of that year... but that might just be me.
