Items? They're in your backpack, duh.
From experience, I'd say head to the various shops like the Pet Shop, Nursery, and the Hat Shop. You can buy things there or earn them through tasks!
Items are mostly in your virtual backpack. Click on it to see everything you own. You can also visit different shops around the map to buy more.
Most items you get will go straight into your backpack inventory. Just click it and you can see all your stuff!
