Just look for the elements that don't like to party with the metals. They're mostly on the upper right side.

Nonmetals are mostly on the right side of the periodic table, except for hydrogen, which hangs out at the top left!

Nonmetals are scattering around the upper right corner and top left (hydrogen). Keep an eye out for that stair-step line starting at boron!
