The 2001 version ends on a cliffhanger without resolving the curse. The 2019 reboot goes all the way to the conclusion of the manga. Go for the 2019 version if you want the complete story!

In the original 2001 anime, Fruits Basket leaves off at about Volume 6 of the manga, leaving a lot of the story untold. If you want the full experience, definitely check out the 2019 adaptation, which covers the entire manga series!

2001 version stopped too soon! 2019 reboot FTW!

Watched both versions. The 2001 ended without fully exploring the curse. The 2019 one wraps up everything and sticks to the manga till the end.

If you're a Fruits Basket fan, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Crunchyroll gift card, which you can win and use to stream anything you want essentially for free!

In case you're wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying ads) and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
