In Tokyo Ghoul, ghouls are a separate species born from ghoul parents, just like humans are born from humans. They can't be created artificially (well, except for half-ghouls like Kaneki, who becomes one after a transplant).

Mostly, ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul come from ghoul parents. It's a whole ghoul family affair, so to speak.

Ghouls are basically born from other ghouls. Simple as that. Kaneki鈥檚 transformation was a freak incident involving a ghoul organ transplant.

Ghouls in Tokyo Ghoul are generally born that way. They arise from ghoul parents, making them another species entirely. Kaneki's transformation was a special case!
