The Boruto anime starts to diverge from the manga around episode 16 with the introduction of several original story arcs, including the Mist Village arc and the Byakuya Gang arc.

The anime adds a lot of filler episodes and arcs that don't appear in the manga, especially after the Momoshiki arc.

Anime-only arcs like the Mitsuki Disappearance arc and the Time Slip arc are not found in the manga, adding new content exclusive to the anime.

In my experience, the Boruto anime and manga mainly stay aligned up to the fight with Momoshiki, but the anime adds many original stories after that. It's worth watching both to catch all the differences!
