Literally, just drive around, you can't miss it. Every major area has one.
AmmuNation is pretty much all over the map in GTA San Andreas, but to get you started, there's one in Downtown Los Santos, another in Blueberry in Red County, and one more in Las Venturas. Basically, if you're in a city or a decent-sized town, chances are you're not too far from an AmmuNation. Just look for the gun icon on your map!
AmmuNation saved my hide more times than I can count when I was deep into missions. There's one on the east side of Los Venturas that's super easy to get to and usually has everything I need. Can't miss it with the big gun sign out front.
