I found that trading posts on space stations are great for exchanging resources. Just dock at one and see what deals you can score!
In Starfield, you don't buy resources in the traditional sense since there's no in-game currency, but you can find resources all over the galaxy! Look out for planets rich in the minerals or materials you need, and just go mining.
Tbh, you can't actually 'buy' resources in a store like other games. Instead, exploring and crafting on your own is way more rewarding!
