I'd say pick a place you find visually stunning. You're going to spend a lot of time there, so might as well enjoy the view!
Just put it anywhere with decent resources to get started. You'll probably build more outposts later, so no need to stress too much!
Go for a planet that's centrally located. Makes traveling and gathering resources a lot easier in the long run.
