Another solid spot for firecap is around the Slocum's Joe, between the Slocum's Joe and the Gauley Mine. There's usually a few popping up around that area. Also, don't forget to look around the Whitespring Resort; the gardens there tend to have a few.
Honestly, just server hop by the river near Flatwoods. Easiest way to farm firecap without sweating too much. Works like a charm every time.
