Everyone's going on about smashing altars, but let's not forget: spelunker potions are your best friend. Lights up all ores like a Christmas tree, including Cobalt. Makes your life so much easier.

Just smash a demon altar and start digging in the caverns. Cobalt's the first ore you unlock hardmode, so it's pretty common. Happy mining!

Cobalt? Overrated. Orichalcum is where it's at. Why settle for less when you can aim higher?

Ah, the quest for Cobalt! After you've smashed your first Demon/Crimson Altar with the Pwnhammer you got from defeating the Wall of Flesh, Cobalt ore starts spawning in your world. You'll find it as you mine around, especially in the Cavern layers. Look for that striking blue shine - can't miss it!
