You can snag the large generator plans in Fallout 76 after completing the 'Powering Up' events at the Poseidon, Monongah, or Thunder Mountain power plants. After you wrap up one of these events, check the rewards section; the plans might just be waiting for you there. Also, wandering vendors sometimes have them for sale. So, keep an eye out and some caps handy!
