Everyone says just mix water and lava, but remember, you'll need a pickaxe that can mine obsidian. Don't go there with basic tools and expect to haul any back.

Finding obsidian in Terraria is like hitting the underground jackpot! Just mix water with lava. The easiest way to do this is to find a place where both elements are close to each other, like underground caverns. Use buckets or dig pathways to get the water to touch the lava, and voila, obsidian! Make sure you've got an obsidian skull or a potion to prevent lava damage if you plan on diving in for your treasure.
